A former elementary school teacher was arrested in relation to a school sexual abuse case allegedly involving at least 20 children and one adult.
An investigation began in March of 2012, after several girls at George De La Torre Jr. Elementary told their parents that they had been inappropriately touched by a fourth-grade teacher during school. The teacher was immediately removed from the school and he retired before the Board of Education could dismiss him. He had worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District since 1974.
The Newport Beach man now faces eight counts of Continuous Sexual Abuse and seven counts of Lewd Acts Upon a Child. The man is being held on $12 million bail.
If you, or someone you know has been charged with child molestation, sexual abuse, Lewd Acts Upon a Child, sexual battery, rape or any other type of crime, it is important to hire a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who has the experience to successfully defend your case.
