Orange County Man on Trial for Assault and Battery for Discharging in Co-Worker’s Water Bottle

An Orange County man was on trial after discharging his semen into the water bottle of a female co-worker on two separate occasions because he found her attractive and knew that her lips touched the bottle.

Michael Lallana, who worked at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of Battery with sentencing enhancement allegations for committing a crime for sexual gratification.  He faces up to one year in jail and registration as a sex offender at his April 22 sentencing.

The woman testified that she worked at Northwestern for more than four years, but hardly ever interacted with Lallana and was not aware of any problem with him.  She first became aware of something funny in her water when she took a sip on Jan. 14, 2010 while she was working in Northwestern's Newport Beach branch.  She immediately noticed an odd taste and saw something in the water so she decided to throw the bottle away.  Four months later the same thing happened to her in the company's Orange branch, where she had been transferred along with six others, including Lallana.

But this time, she took the bottle to a private lab, who determined that the foreign substance was semen.  At first, Lallana denied having anything to do with the semen in the bottle.  He later admitted discharging into her bottle on both occasions.  A subsequent DNA test confirmed that the semen in the bottle was Lallana's.
