Beverly Hills Attorney Pleads No Contest to Smuggling Heroin into Courthouse

Michael H. Inman, a Beverly Hills attorney who tried to smuggle heroin into a secure area of the downtown L.A. criminal courts building, plead no contest to a single count of bringing drugs into jail.  The attorney was caught with about 14.25 grams of black tar heroin in a plastic bag and a trace amount of methamphetamine while trying to visit two defendants he was representing at the time.

Inman was originally charged with four criminal counts of drug possession and sales, however, under the plea deal entered before the judge, three additional felony counts were dismissed, including possession of a controlled substance in a jail, possession for sale of a controlled substance and sale or transportation of a controlled substance.

Inman was sentenced to four months in county jail and three years formal probation and was ordered to submit paperwork to the state bar to be placed on inactive status.
