Robert Short, 64, was arrested on suspicion of selling and making methamphetamine inside his senior living community apartment. Short was stopped for a traffic violation and when the officers discovered that Short was on probation for transporting a controlled substance, the officers searched his vehicle. The officers discovered digital scales and two bags containing nearly 26 grams of methamphetamine, resulting in the officers receiving a search warrant for Short's residence.
When police searched Short's apartment at the senior living community they found a ledger documenting drug transactions, chemicals used in making methamphetamine and liquids resembling methamphetamine. Police seized 8.6 grams of methamphetamine and arrested Short on suspicion of selling and possessing a controlled substance.
Resources say that the defendant will not be allowed to return and live in his apartment community and the senior living complex will be taking several additional security measures to ensure that something like this does not happen again.
