"War Machine" Arrested For Attack Against Ex-Girlfriend Christy Mack And Her Boyfriend Corey Thomas

Posted By Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney || 22-Aug-2014

Mixed-martial arts fighter, Jonathan "War Machine" Koppenhaver, has been arrested for beating his ex-girlfriend, adult film star Christy Mack, and her boyfriend, reality TV star, Corey Thomas, so badly they had to be hospitalized. Koppenhaver arrived at Mack's Las Vegas residence and entered with a key that he had from when they were still dating. Mack and Thomas were asleep when they awoke to the sound of Mack's dogs barking.

Koppenhaver entered the bedroom, turned on the lights and began punching Thomas in the face multiple times. Koppenhaver put Thomas in a chokehold and told him that if he told anyone that he would have his friends kill him. Koppenhaver repeatedly punched and kicked Mack, then took Mack's cell phone and every time he saw something he didn't like, he would punch her in the face. Koppenhaver then threatened Mack with a dull knife and she was able to run away when he went in the other room to retrieve a sharper knife in an attempt to kill her.

The couples were taken to the hospital for their injuries where Thomas suffered from a bone fracture and multiple bruises. Mack's eyes were swollen shut, her lips were swollen, she was missing several of her teeth, her eye socket was fractured, and she suffered 18 broken bones and a ruptured liver. Koppenhaver was arrested and charged with battery with substantial bodily harm, strangulation, kidnapping, open and gross lewdness and attempted murder.
