Former 49ers Offensive Tackle Charged for Assaulting Ex-Boyfriend

Posted By Attorney Robert M. Bernstein || 30-Jan-2013

Former 49ers and Raiders tackle Kwame Harris faces charges that he assaulted his boyfriend at a Menlo Park restaurant after an argument.

Harris got into an argument with his ex in August at a restaurant and accused him of stealing his underwear. Once they were outside of the restaurant, Harris tried to pull down his ex's pants. Harris then pinned him against a plate-glass window and hit him several times in the face and head. The ex sustained complex compound facial fractures that required surgery and the insertion of a metal plate.

Harris was later charged with Felony Domestic Abuse with Great Bodily Injury and Assault with Great Bodily Injury. Harris pleaded not guilty in the fall and is scheduled to go to trial in April. If convicted, Harris faces up to nine years in prison.

If you, or someone you know has been charged with domestic violence, assault, battery, or any other type of crime, it is important to hire a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who can aggressively fight the charges against you.
