Federal law enforcement agents conducted their largest raid that resulted in the arrest of 159 "pimps" from all over the United States who were involved in the exploitation of children. More than 100 teenagers were rescued over the weekend in a sex-trafficking crackdown conducted in more than 70 cities.
The FBI used many outlets to recover sexually exploited children including searching streets, motels, casinos, and even social media outlets. The pimps commonly used a classifieds website called Backpage to sell the children who were kidnapped for sex. Most of the victims are girls who become trapped in a vicious cycle that can involve drugs, physical
abuse, or even torture. The predator sweep was the seventh of Operation Cross Country and the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children.
If you or someone you know is under investigation for sex-trafficking or human trafficking, then your first step should be consulting with a Los Angeles criminal lawyer from the Law Offices of Robert M. Bernstein.
