Ryan Seacrest is the latest celebrity to fall victim to a "swatting" prank after someone falsely reported a break-in at the stars home. Police received a phone call via relay service on Wednesday in which the caller claimed armed men were trying to force their way into the star's residence in the 1100 block of Cabrillo Lane.
Officers made contact with the private security at the house and were told there was no trouble. In the past several days Diddy, Rihanna, Ashton Kutcher, Russell Brand, and Justin Timberlake have all been "swatted." Officials believe bogus 911 calls have reached near-epidemic levels and have proposed that guilty parties foot the bill for soliciting a large police response.
