Posted By Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorney || 23-May-2012

A jailer at the Seal Beach City Jail was sentenced to prison for taking bribes in exchange for allowing visitors into the jail to see inmates without being searched.

The jailer, Jose Alday, accepted bribes including money, a cell phone, two leather jackets, and an iPad in exchange for allowing visitors to take alcohol and other contraband into the jail for inmates. He was arrested while at work and was in possession of anabolic steroids. Investigators also found a used methamphetamine pipe during a search of his home.

Alday pled guilty to a felony count of receiving bribes, a felony count of possession for sale of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. He is sentenced to two years in state prison.

If you, or someone you know has been charged with receiving bribes, possession for sale of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, or any other type of drug crime, it is important to consult with a Los Angeles criminal lawyer who can aggressively fight for your rights.
