Steven Paulson, otherwise known as the "Puffy Coat Bandit," has been indicted on suspicion of carrying out a three-week, three-county bank robbery spree. He earned his moniker because of the heavy ski jackets he wore during some of the heists. In all seven robberies, the bandit presented the teller a note while claiming or motioning as if he was armed.
Paulson was arrested on January 10, 2012, after a police detective detained a driver matching the description of the suspect and the getaway vehicle. He has been indicted on seven counts of bank robbery for the alleged string of crimes and is currently being held in federal custody. If convicted of all counts, he will be facing time in federal prison.
