Redmond O'Neal Sentenced for Drug and Firearm Possession

Posted By Robert Bernstein || 26-Sep-2011

The son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, Redmond O'Neal, has been in trouble with the law before. He has been battling drug addiction since he was a teen and has been in and out of jail and rehab in relation to substance abuse issues. Recently, while on probation O'Neal was arrested once again for possession of heroin and a firearm.

Earlier this month, O'Neal was pulled over for running a red light. He was placed under arrest when officers searched his vehicle and discovered heroin and marijuana. While executing a search warrant at O'Neal's residence, police found a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun.

O'Neal plead no contest to two felony counts, including heroin possession and possession of a firearm by a felon. The judge suspended O'Neal's three-year prison sentence for a probation violation and placed him on five years' probation and ordered him to complete one year at a live-in drug rehabilitation program.
