A California man who sexually assaulted a woman he met on Match.com has plead no contest to felony sexual battery by force. The victim is the woman who filed a lawsuit against Match.com in April, claiming that if the site had performed a background check on the man she met, the attack could have been prevented. The attacker, Paul Wurtzel, had prior sex offense convictions.
Wurtzel and the victim went on two dates. After the second date, Wurtzel walked the woman to her door and once inside, held her down and sexually assaulted her.
Under the plea Wurtzel faces a year in jail and five years of formal probation. In addition, he must register as a sex offender for life.
