Posted By Robert M. Bernstein || 30-May-2011

Two married school teachers were recently arrested and charged with having an unlawful sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

The Huntington Beach couple, Daniel Shepard and Gay Davidson-Shepard, were charged with multiple felony counts, including oral copulation of a minor, sodomy of a person under 18 and contributing to the delinquency of the minor.  Daniel Shepard was also charged with possession and control of child pornography.

At the time of the crime, Davidson-Shepard was a teacher at Mesa View Middle School in Huntington Beach while Shepard taught at Westminster High School.  They are accused of repeatedly inviting a male student from Westminster High to their home starting in March 2009 to drink alcohol, eat, play board games and watch movies. The following month, the couple allegedly began initiating sexual encounters with the boy in their Jacuzzi. The couple is accused of getting the student drunk before engaging in sexual acts.  The student disclosed the relationship to his mother in March 2011.

Daniel Shepard faces a maximum sentence of five years in state prison and his wife is looking at a maximum of eight years and four months.
