Beverly Hills Socialite Sentenced to Six Years for Trafficking Marijuana

Posted By Robert M. Bernstein || 25-Jul-2011

In June 2010, Beverly Hills socialite Lisette Lee was arrested by DEA agents in Columbus, Ohio after landing in a private jet chartered from Van Nuys Airport with three friends and over 500 pounds of marijuana stuffed into 13 suitcases. She had been coordinating flights on her parents' private jet since 2009 and was a courier for an organization said to have trafficked at least 7,000 pounds of marijuana at a profit of more than $3 million.

She pleaded guilty in February to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana. She was sentenced to six years in prison and a $20,000 fine in U.S. District Court for trafficking 14 shipments of large quantities of marijuana from California to Columbus, Ohio.
