Dr. Glen Justice, an Orange County cancer doctor, ran a fraudulent scam from 2004 to 2009 that caused health insurance providers to suffer losses between $400,000 and $1 million.
Justice defrauded providers including Medicare, Tricare, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California, and many others by billing for injectable cancer medications that his patients never received. In some cases where the patient did receive medications, Justice filed false claims to health insurance providers by stating that he administered more expensive injectable medications than were actually given to patients.
In May 2010, Justice plead guilty to five counts of Health Care Fraud in the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He was recently sentenced to 18 months in federal prison.
