Los Angeles Pastor Sentenced for Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor

Posted By Robert M. Bernstein || 31-Aug-2011

A pastor at a Los Angeles church recently plead no contest to charges alleging that he had unlawful sex with a minor.

The 14-year-old victim was a member of the pastor's congregation and he befriended her through a church group. In

July and August of 2010, the pastor would take her to vacant buildings where he would then sexually assault her.

The pastor was given a four-year suspended state prison sentence and a year in jail with five years' probation upon his release. In addition, he is ordered to stay away from the victim, who is now 15. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed five additional felony counts that included lewd acts upon a child and unlawful sexual intercourse.
