Orange County Woman Arrested for Statutory Rape May Have Given Birth to Victim's Child

Mayra Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 16-year-old boy between July and December of 2011, mostly at his home when his parents were away. A suspicious neighbor confronted the boy, who admitted the relationship, and the neighbor told his parents. Gonzalez gave birth in March and investigators are waiting for test results to see if the teenaged victim is the father of the baby.

Gonzalez is charged with six felony counts of unlawful sex with a minor younger than 16 and two felony counts of oral copulation with a minor younger than 18. She faces up to seven years and eight months in prison if she is convicted at trial.

If you, or someone you know has been charged with statutory rape, unlawful sex with a minor, oral copulation with a minor, child molestation, or any other type of sex crime, it is essential to hire an aggressive Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer to fight for your future.
