Actress Amanda Bynes Charged with Driving Under the Influence

Actress Amanda Bynes, known for Nickelodeon shows such as All That and The Amanda Show, was arrested in April for driving under the influence after her BMW allegedly hit the rear corner of a sheriff's vehicle in West Hollywood.

The same day Bynes was formally charged with DUI, she asked for President Barack Obama's help in the following tweet, "Hey @BarackObama... I don't drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end."

Bynes has pled not guilty to a single count of misdemeanor driving under the influence. If convicted, she could face a harsher sentence of up to six months in jail for allegedly refusing both a breathalyzer and a blood test at the time of her arrest. Her next court date is set for July 18.

If you, or someone you know has been charged with driving under the influence or any other type of crime, it is important to hire a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who can protect your rights.
