Bling Ring Leader Pleads No Contest to Burglary
The Bling Ring first gained notoriety in 2009 when members of the theft gang were accused of robbing the homes of several celebrities including Orlando Bloom and Lindsay Lohan. Rachel Lee, the alleged leader of the Bling Ring, recently pled no contest to residential burglary charges and faces several years in prison.
Originally, Lee was facing three charges of felony burglary and two counts of receiving stolen property. After negotiating a plea deal with prosecutors, Lee will only face four years of incarceration in exchange for her plea of no contest to one count of residential burglary.
Alexis Neiers, another Bling Ring member who's claim to fame was the reality TV show "Pretty Wild," pled no contest to felony residential burglary in May 2010. She was sentenced to six months in jail and three years of probation. Other accomplices have all pled not guilty and are awaiting their next court dates.
