Lindsay Lohan Charged with Felony Grand Theft
Lindsay Lohan, who is currently on probation for a misdemeanor drunk-driving conviction and is also facing a criminal investigation involving allegations that she committed a Battery against a Betty Ford Center employee, has now been charged with Felony Grand Theft.
Lohan is alleged to have stolen a $2,500.00 necklace from a Venice jewelry store not far from where she lives. The necklace disappeared on January 22, and police began investigating a few days later. Lohan can be seen in a store security video wearing the necklace before it was reported missing.
Lohan plead not guilty and will return to court on February 23, 2011. The judge said it appeared that Lohan had violated her probation in the 2007 DUI, set bail at $40,000 and warned that if she broke the law while free, he would have her held without bail. Lohan could face up to three years in state prison if eventually convicted of Felony Grand Theft.
