California Teacher's Aide Arrested for Having Sex with Student
Holly Polson, a teaching assistant, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a minor she was tutoring after school. She and the13-year-old boy had allegedly been having sex in an empty classroom for two weeks before the boy's parents found inappropriate texts on his cell phone and called police.
Authorities say Polson confessed to the affair when she was arrested at her family home. Polson, a married mother of four, has been booked for four felony counts of lewd acts with a child.
When the victim of lewd acts is under the age of 14, the offender can face even more severe penalties than if the child is 14 years of age or older. The offense is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for three, six, or eight years. A person would also be ordered to register as a sex offender in the state of California if convicted of such an offense.
