"Lost" actor Matthew Fox was arrested in Oregon for suspicion of driving under the influence while on his way to pick up some fast food at 3:30 AM. Police noticed he failed to signal properly or stay in his lane. Fox was taken into custody, but was released later the same day.

Fox could potentially have his license suspended if he's convicted. Drivers can also be required to attend alcohol education classes and be assessed for alcohol treatment. He would be facing the same penalties had he been arrested while driving under the Influence in California, however, a DUI conviction in California may require one to have an interlocking ignition device installed in their vehicle.

A 14-year-old boy accused of killing his father, federal ICE agent Myron W. Chisem, did not enter a plea to a murder charge at his initial juvenile court appearance and will face a May 21 hearing on his fitness to be tried as an adult.

The boy was allegedly upset after clashing with his father over his grades and used his father's service weapon to fire a shot into the house from the backyard. The single shot struck Chisem in the head as he sat watching TV in the family room of their Carson home. The teen called 911 and deputies found Chisem's handgun in the front yard.

The boy has been charged with one count of murder and the additional allegation of using a firearm. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office will proceed with its efforts to try the teenager as an adult.

Four current and former Transportation Security Administration screeners have been arrested and face charges of taking bribes and looking the other way while suitcases filled with cocaine, methamphetamine or marijuana passed through X-ray machines at Los Angeles International Airport. The TSA screeners allegedly received up to $2,400 in cash bribes in exchange for allowing large drug shipments to pass through checkpoints.

The 40-page federal indictment outlines five alleged smuggling incidents over a six-month period last year. In one incident, a screener schemed to allow for about eight pounds of methamphetamine to pass through security, then went to an airport restroom where he was handed $600, the second half of the payment for that delivery.

If convicted, the TSA agents face anywhere from 10 years to life in Federal Prison.

A San Diego man is in custody, accused of attempting to sacrifice his own son in a San Diego area cemetery.

Joseph Ramirez took his wife and son to Mount Hope Cemetery and told them his dead grandmother told him to sacrifice the 8-year-old boy. One of the candles Ramirez had brought for the ceremony broke, and he used a piece of the broken glass to slash open his son's forearms. He then slashed his own forearms.

A bystander who witnessed the incident and jumped in to help and was able to convince Ramirez to let the child go. When officers arrived, they transported Ramirez to a nearby hospital for treatment. Once he's released, officers say Ramirez will be booked into county jail on charges of child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon.

Lifeguards called the Malibu sheriff's station when they noticed a suspicious boat about 50 feet from the beach. Deputies reported the case to the Department of Homeland Security, which deployed aerial and marine units.

The three marijuana smuggling suspects aboard the panga boat were identified by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency as Mexican nationals. Video showed bundles being tossed overboard as the boat moved away from shore. Authorities later confirmed that each bundle contained about 20 pounds of marijuana. Total, they discovered 80 bundles, which were valued at more than $1 million.

Global Tel Link will pay millions to install technology in California prisons to block web searches, text messages and phone calls by inmates using smuggled phones. The company will do the work for free because they are betting that once the contraband cell devices are disabled, demand for pay phones will skyrocket.

Like other states, California is battling the problem of phones smuggled to inmates, some of whom use them to run criminal enterprises on the streets, organize assaults on guards and intimidate witnesses, prison officials say. Last year, California prison guards confiscated more than 15,000 contraband phones, nearly one for every 11 inmates.

Basically, each prison will get its own cell tower, which prison officials will be able to control. They'll make a list of approved phones that can send and receive signals, and all others will be rendered useless.

If you have been charged with a crime, it is essential to hire an aggressive Los Angeles criminal attorney who knows the law and can fight for your future.

A California woman is being accused of attempted murder after allegedly attacking a store clerk who refused to sell her a single bottle of beer.

Teresa Aguayo entered a family run market in Orange County and asked to buy a bottle of beer. The clerk behind the counter refused since the store didn’t sell individual bottles. Aguayo allegedly began attacking the employee by throwing various items at her. Aguayo then went behind the counter and physically attacked the clerk, beating her repeatedly over the head with the beer bottle and forcing her to drink rubbing alcohol and acetone. Aguayo then wrapped her head in a blanket, which caused the clerk to momentarily pass out. When the clerk regained consciousness, Aguayo was spraying bug repellent in her face.

When police arrived, they had to physically pull a kicking and screaming Aguayo off the store clerk. Aguayo’s arrest is just the latest entry on a long record that includes convictions for grand theft and assault with a deadly weapon. Aguayo was booked on charges of attempted murder and held on a $500,000 bond.

Perry Pemberton, a Los Angeles Gang Member and Parolee, has been arrested for two burglaries in Sherman Oaks after police were able to pinpoint his location at the crime scenes via his GPS ankle bracelet.

During the investigation, detectives monitored ankle bracelets attached to dangerous, high-risk criminals on parole. The Los Angeles Police Department said the monitoring system confirmed Pemberton had been inside both homes at the time of the burglaries. Then they used it to locate Pemberton and arrest him the day after the crimes.

Police say a search of his luxury car yielded jewelry believed to be linked to burglaries in Santa Clarita and Burbank. LAPD said further analysis of the ankle bracelet linked Pemberton to additional burglaries in Woodland Hills and Bel Air.

A former Los Angeles school police officer has been found guilty of multiple felonies including planting false evidence, insurance fraud and workers' compensation fraud after falsely reporting that he had been shot by a robbery suspect.

Jeffrey Stenroos said that he was responding to a report of a car burglary when the suspect shot him in the chest and fled. The former officer was wearing a bulletproof vest and was not seriously injured. The Los Angeles Police Department believed there was a violent person on the loose and dispatched more than 550 police officers and locked down the area for 10 hours.

The former officer's story fell apart when police realized his account of what happened kept changing and evidence found at the scene did not quite corroborate any of his explanations. He is ordered to spend five years in county jail, although that sentence will be commuted to two years if he performs 400 hours of community service. He must also pay $309,000 in restitution, which will go to reimburse the city for the expense of using so many police officers.

If you, or someone you know has been charged with insurance fraud, workers' compensation fraud, planting false evidence, or any other type of fraud crime, it is essential to hire an experienced
